HAPPY NEW YEAR, and a spot of news for you courtesy of a Freedom of Information request made to the Forestry Commission by Friends of the Earth.
As you are aware INEOS are partners of Dart Energy at Tinker Lane 1. INEOS also operate a licence area SK67a that abuts PEDL 200 the licence area that includes Tinker Lane 1 (as seen below). Two good reasons for including this post on our Tinker Lane website both of which are of interest to CLG members.
INEOS are about to undertake seismic testing, 2D and 3D across Nottinghamshire and elsewhere where they have licences. The Forestry Commission, as a public body have responded to the FOI request with details of INEOS plans for its land in and around Nottinghamshire. The plans show that a considerable amount of seismic testing is on the cards for our area. The plans are available here. Our main interest is in the area at the top right hand side of the Forestry Commissions map, this because the area indicated is but a stones throw from what is the boundary of CLG member Babworth Parish. Not only is there indication that INEOS are intent to survey close to Babworth Parish, we might reasonably expect their survey to continue well into Babworth Parish. During informal discussions of gas companies plans generally at the CLG we have spoken about the attractions to a gas company of a well served development site, close access to A1, limited housing in vicinity, open fields etc. all might suggest that the search might be extended up the B6420 towards Babworth and Ordsall, into Babworth Parish itself. It certainly looks like its going to be an interesting start to 2017 for our CLG whether from a possible Tinker Lane 1 determination or from INEOS activities close by.
