Dawn that is, on Sunday 2nd December breaking over the rig. No noise at all from the site as I passed this morning save a cheery greeting from security to the dog as we trundled passed. Something is likely not going to plan at Tinker lane, the rig was silent, no sign of the drillers, certainly not the round the clock drilling operation that was described to us. Last week we saw on Facebook what looked like surface casing with spacers on it being removed from site (to my lay eye!) which was rather strange. However whatever the reason for the hit and miss operation over the last week and cessation again today we might take it that there are problems on Marriotts rig HH220. Maybe we will hear from IGas this week exactly what the problem has been. Meanwhile we imagine that the management teams at Drilltec and BDF Boldon, perhaps gloating a little at what is transpiring at Tinker lane, are breakfasting well this morning (those two drilling companies, having lost out to Marriotts as rig provider). Marriotts perhaps tucking into a bowl or two of gruel whilst trying to figure this one out.
