Well they must be a little unhappy with the outcome at the Tinker Lane borehole, failing to locate the Bowland Shale and all that! However the brass was the other side of the security fence (on no mans land to the side of the bellmouth, in case you are interested). A brass band, playing carols with a merry group of locals singing along. The drillers, bah humbug, continued their work on the rig, looked like they were wire lining, (there was apparently a radioactive source on site again today). We hope however that the carols were enjoyed on both sides of the security fence and captured on the CCTV security cameras maybe even relayed to IGas head office to cheer any gloomy souls there. Also present on the day a BBC Look North TV crew capturing brass band, interviews with several local people and comings and goings through the gate. Late to arrive, stage left, two local bobbies (a treble and a baritone, we believe) just in time for the last few carols.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all from Tinker Lane Community Liaison Group
